Hours: Full time (37.5 hours per week), Monday – Friday, 12:00 pm - 7:30 pm Location: 2 positions – see Question #20 on the application to indicate your location preference: Location #1: 1 Coordinator will oversee: Rappahannock Area, Rappahannock Rapidan, Region Ten, Northwestern, Harrisonburg/Rockingham (applicant needs to live in one of these CSB geographic locations) Location #2: 1 Coordinator will oversee: Horizon Behavioral Health, Rockbridge, Valley, Alleghany (applicant needs to live in one of these CSB geographic locations) Position Summary: The Clinical Coordinator position for Region 1 Mobile Crisis will supervise teams in four to five community service board catchment areas. The position supervises a team of clinicians that provide mobile crisis responses to schools, homes, and communities for children and adolescents. The position needs to be licensed either as an LPC or LCSW. It is preferred that this position has experience with crisis services for children and adolescents. Position collaborates with all Region 1 Community Service Boards and stakeholders, as well as provides training for communities. This position will work from the home setting; however, this position will require some travel for supervision, trainings, and meetings. This position will be provided a work vehicle and gas card. Required Education and Experience: Master’s degree from an accredited college/university in an applicable human services field and licensure in the State of Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner, or Licensed Clinical Psychologist. Two years of related expereince is required. Preferred that candidate has one to two years of prior supervisory experience in a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Position Overview: The Clinical Coordinator on the Mobile Crisis team will report to the Director of Region 1 and REACH program, and will be responsible for the following: MANAGEMENT OF REGION ONE MOBILE CRISIS TEAM - Assist with the development and implementation of a comprehensive, collaborative, evidence-informed child crisis program for ages 0-18 years who have been diagnosed with mental health diagnoses, and is experiencing a crisis episode; Ensure the delivery of services in accordance with all applicable regulations and policies; Lead and collaborate with other appropriate staff and outside entities as needed to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of services to clients receiving emergency services; Schedules assigned clinicians for participation in identified program area; Collaborates with other CSB's and community partners to ensure appropriate consumer follow up and linkages; Provides assistance to the team through clinical consultation, assessments and problem solving; Keeps all staff informed of relevant changes and fosters and atmosphere of open communication; Provide transportation for children/youth and parent/guardian in agency vehicle if needed during a crisis, to and/or from hospital settings, clinical appointments, and/or when otherwise deemed clinically appropriate; Updates assigned staff of licensure notifications for updates and changes in emergency/crisis regulations and works with director to communicate changes and revise policies to meet those changes. PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT - Ensures employees fully understand their roles, responsibilities and performance standards/expectations; Clearly states primary duties and responsibilities, documenting in all employees’ job descriptions; Clearly defines performance expectations, including productivity standards, quantity and quality indicators, and applicable observable behavioral indicators in employees’ work plans (Ensures performance expectations are defined with objective, measurable indicators of quality and quantity outcomes and/or observable behavioral indicators); Provides ongoing, timely feedback to employees throughout the work cycle to reinforce good performance and to correct performance that needs improvement; Provides formal overall job performance feedback to employees at 90-day intervals using Halogen and performs fair and objective annual performance reviews. Completes final annual performance reviews for all direct reports within 45 days from the end of the work cycle; Provides performance feedback that is timely and keeps employees informed about what is going well and what needs to be improved. Feedback discussions are frequent, clear and serve to encourage positive behaviors. Ongoing communication also ensures up-to-date understanding of expectations, performance gaps and actions required to close those gaps, as well as modifications to performance standards if changed circumstances or expectations occur during the work-cycle; Ensure staff successfully complete all Horizon mandatory training on time; Ensures that appropriate clinical supervision occurs for continuity of services; Provides clinical supervision for up to 10 Mobile Crisis Clinicians - QMHPC. REPORTS/DOCUMENTATION - Compiles and reviews monthly statistical information, reporting, and provides follow-up as needed to staff to ensure all programming goals are met; Ensures requested reports and/or documentation is completed as requested and by applicable deadlines; Reviews audits on electronic health records of individuals receiving services through assigned programs on a regular basis and ensures records are in compliance with all regulations. Will audit at least 5% of program monthly and submit results to Director; Responsible for DBHDS reporting elements for Mobile Crisis plan; Will complete Critical Indicator reports monthly; Responsible for TDO exception reports. Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of behavior modification; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); emergency interventions; family, group, and individual therapies; psycho social education; risk assessments; sex offender treatment; substance abuse interventions; etc.; Excellent clinical judgment and the ability to make quick clinically sound decisions for crisis situations, for children and youth 18 and under; Knowledge of clinical supervision requirements and techniques; Knowledge of community mental health and public health in order to provide advocacy and enhance an individual’s treatment and access to community resources. Knowledge of the principles, procedures, techniques, trends, and literature related to mental health, intellectual disabilities and substance abuse; Knowledge of psychiatric/medical medications/treatments. Ability to effectively manage employee performance, communicate expectations and objectively rate performance of assigned employees; Ability to develop reports, create presentations and communicate findings to both internal and external audiences; Ability to manage a budget and stay within budget expectations; Ability to drive and must possess a valid driver’s license. May be called upon to travel to any Horizon worksite; transport clients, provide services to client @other locations. Regular attendance at trainings and Horizon meetings may require travel to a variety of Horizon sites; Willing and available to work modified schedules (weekends, holiday, etc.) as required.
